  1. José "Cheo" Feliciano nació el 3 de Julio de y dió sus primeros pasos en firme en el campo de la música como estudiante de la Escuela de Música Libre en su nativa Ponce, Puerto Rico. A la edad de 17, se trasladó con su familia a Nueva York donde empezó su carrera profesional como percusionista con un grupo llamado "Ciro Rimac's Review".

Although he was one of the burgeoning salsa movement's brightest stars in the late '60s, thanks to pivotal work with Joe Cuba and Eddie Palmieri (among others), Cheo Feliciano hit bottom not long after, due to drug addiction. Vowing to quit cold turkey, he entered rehab near the end of the decade and emerged one year later with Cheo, his first solo album and a powerhouse work.9/

  3. Aug 14,  · Cheo Feliciano had a sensual and passionate vocal style very apparent in his more than 17 albums recorded over the years. He died in a car crash this past April at the age of 78 but his voice will live on. This anthology is well worth the purchase of this richly talented singer of salsa and bolero music. RIP Cheo and thanks for the music!!!5/5(1).
